Boom
Stand Off Unit The legs of the Boom Stand Off are aluminum tubing, 6 ft. long, with 6 inches of vinyl covered foam for buoyancy. Each of the three boom legs is fitted with an aluminum "V" type fitting. Since all three legs of the Boom Stand Off are identical, the device can be used with two (2) of the "V" type fittings in contact with the hull and one (1) fitting in contact with the boom; or two(2) fittings against the boom and one (1) fitting in contact with the hull. The method for positioning the Boom Stand Off is a matter of "on site" application. All "V" type fittings contain a PVC belting rub pad to eliminate wear to the oil containment boom fabric or to the vessel hull. Oil spillage or seepage from the boomed off moored vessel can be easily removed for disposal without danger of contamination to the surrounding environment. |
